Did you know you can feel more comfortable at 68 degrees than at 70 degrees?

 

 If you do not currently have a humidifier, the air is dry and feels cooler.  If you have the right moisture content in the air, you can feel warmer at a lower temperature.

Although gas leaks are uncommon, it is a good idea to be able to recognize them.  Some signs are obvious, some are not.  Here are the signs to look for when you suspect a leak: 

 

1. Gas odor.

 

2.    A blowing or hissing sound.

 

3.    Water bubbling or being blown into the air at a pond, creek or river. 

 

4.    Fire coming from the ground or burning above the ground. 

 

5. Brown patches in vegetation on or near a gas line

 

6.    Dry spot in moist earth.

 

 

 

 

 

1.  Leave area at once!!  Warn others to stay away.

 

2. Avoid using potential ignition sources, such as motor vehicles, telephones, doorbells or electric switches.

 

3. Call the gas company.

 

4. Call the local fire department or 911.

 

5.  Never try to extinguish a gas fire or operate any pipeline valves.
